New Normal Of Local Bali Tourism
The Association of Indonesian Travel Companies (ASITA) assesses that new normal conditions in the tourism sector are likely to make tourists more aware of the need for travel insurance.
ASITA Chairperson Nunung Rusmiati, who was contacted in Jakarta on Saturday (05/30/2020) as quoted from Antara, said it was due to a change in tourist behavior due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Indonesian people who are usually concerned about health and safety insurance are not too concerned, now they are more aware of the need for this insurance," he said.
According to him, that was also revealed in a survey conducted by ASITA regarding changes in tourist behavior due to a pandemic.
He also mentioned changes in other tourist behavior is that tourists will feel a concern in traveling, whether for entertainment or business purposes.
Therefore, businesses in the tourism sector are also certain to always mitigate risk from services provided to customers. "For example, the Emirates airline has already conducted a rapid test to passengers before the trip," he said.
Furthermore, ASITA appreciates the government's steps to support the revival of the tourism sector which was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although there is no decision on the destination to be reopened because there is still a need for further identification, the effort is a good step to restore the sector.
"In accordance with the results of the ratas, the implementation of new normal will indeed have a reduction in tourists, but by opening an area with low Covid-19 deployment, it is a good way to restore tourism despite restrictions on the number of visits or a reduction in hours," Rusmiati added.
