Anam Community, Bulan Village, Ruteng Subdistrict, Manggarai Regency, NTT held a custom event at the Congko Lokap Gendang Mbero Nangka on Saturday 31 August 2019
The Congko Lokap event was made as a form of thanksgiving for the completion of the construction of a traditional house as the center of traditional life of the Gendang Mbero Nangka Anam Community
"This is a form of thanksgiving for the completion of the construction of a traditional house as the center of the traditional life of the Gendang Mbero Nangka Anam community" said Belasius Jehono, chief of Gendang Mbero Nangka when met at Anam on Saturday (8/31/2019)
To enliven the event, Said Belasius Jehono, his side performed the caci dance by presenting the Welu indigenous community, Welu Village, Cibal District, as Invitation guests for the Caci Dance (Meka Landang)
"This is a very sacred event, to enliven the show we put on the caci dance by presenting the Welu indigenous people as a meka landang" he explained
The highlight of the event, he added, was marked by the Kaba (Kild Buffalo) event which was performed with the ritual procession of the Manggarai custom on Saturday 31 August 2019 at the Gendang Mbero Nangka Anam home yard
"The highlight of this event will be marked by the Kaba (Cut Buffalo) paki as a sacrificial animal offered to the ancestors on Saturday 31 August 2019" he added
Belasius said the purpose of building a “Mbaru Gendang” is not only a symbol but is expected to be used as a container for solving various problems of community life in the culture of Lonto Leok
"The purpose of the Mbaru Gendang is to solve various problems. The indigenous people in the Lonto Leok frame are not only seen as symbols," he said.
“The existence of the gendang” stated Blasius “must be equipped with Lingko, namely agricultural area which is divided in the form of spider networks (Gendang One Lingko Peang)”.
"The existence of Gendang signs that there is a lingko peang, the Mendang Gendang Manga Lingko, and Lingko is the property of every Gendang indigenous community"
Belasius said that the Congko Lokap Program should not only be seen as a ceremonial event but most importantly how everyone interprets it as a container of brotherhood, for that it is hoped that the Gendang Mbero Nangka Anam indigenous people in carrying out their daily lives continue to build a sense of harmony.
"The most important hope is harmony in life every day, one Gendang house means we are a family that must respect each other, help each other to support everyday life" he said.
Before entering the peak event which is marked by Buffalo Cut (Paki Kaba), various traditional procession events must be undertaken, including:
First, the “Teing Hang Kolang Empo” event as well as “Pande Manuk Benta Dewa Petu Wakar”. This event was created as a form of respect for the ancestors and called them to attend the Gendang (Wanta Raja Reding Ceki) traditional house celebration event.
Second, “Pantek” is an event that is made as a statement of readiness to run the “Longko Lokap”.
Third, “Barong Boa” and “Barong Wae Teku”. These two methods are carried out as a form of request to the ancestors so that the ancestors always protect the source of the spring as the Source of Life for the Gendang Mbero Nangka indigenous people.
